Things are off to a great start for us at Vanguard Ideation. Here is our first monthly roundup of everything vanguard:
DLC13 and NOLA Tech Week – Vanguard Ideation was proud to sponsor both NOLA Tech Week and DLC13 (brought to you by Random Nerds) this year. They were a huge success and we plan to continue to support NOLA Tech and DLC events in the future.
FredDev Meet-up – @andrewhcurtis attended a presentation down in Fredericksburg about Drupal presented by the lead developer at Convert! Integrated Marketing, Mike Woodcock. He gave an overview of Drupal CMS and went over the basics, benefits, as well as a brief demonstration on making a Drupal site.
GivebackDC – @lcavero227 attended the Giveback DC closing party event hosted by 1776 in Washington, D.C. Giveback DC is an initiative started by The Web Development Group where they work with top creative web agencies in the area to help 4 chosen nonprofit organizations get a complete online make-over over the course of 72 hours. This year WDG partnered up with nclud, Threespot, and Free Range Studios.
DC Design Week Closing Event – We attended AIGA DC’s Design Week closing event where guest speaker, Jon Newman, spoke about his year long project, Daydreams and Nightschemes. You can find our blog post about the talk here.
Coming up in November – We are pleased to announce our partnership with Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. We will be working with them to refresh their brand and the creation of their website/online store. We also want to announce that this November we be doing our first annual November Poster Challenge (#NPC30) where we will create a poster a day for the whole month of November that will cover our favorite TV shows, movies, music, books, comics and video games. At the end of the month we will put all posters up for a vote and we will make prints and t-shirts of the winning design.
